PHILADELPHIA - The Temple University men's golf team begins the 2026-27 season at the newly-named John MacDonald Temple Invitational on Monday.
The Owls will be joined by 10 other programs at the 54-hole event, which begins with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start. A total of 12 Temple student-athletes will compete at the event, including two full squads of five and a pair of individuals.
For the first time, the event will be named after Temple Hall of Famer John MacDonald, who coached the men's golf program from 1971-2001. MacDonald led Temple to 15 conference championships. His student-athletes earned All America honors 22 times, and four played on the PGA Tour.
Temple will be joined by local rivals Delaware, La Salle, and Drexel, in addition to Gardner Webb, Francis Marion, Niagara, St. Bonaventure, Canisius, Rider and Lehigh.
