Teaneck, NJ- Temple women's volleyball (8-4) defeated Fairleigh Dickinson University (2-12) in 5 sets to conclude non-conference play Wednesday evening at the Bogota Savings Bank Center. Three Owls recorded double digit kills: Khenedi Guest with 14, Christiana Greene with 13, and Olivia Hummel with 16.
How It Happened

Set:1 (Temple19-FDU25)

Christiana Greene started the set hot with 2 blocks and a kill as temple dominated early going up 6-1. FDU would make a comeback going on a 0-4 run closing the gap to 8-6.
The match remained tight though the media timeout, with neither team gaining much of advantage as the set was tied at 16.
FDU would fight their way to gain a 5 point advantage on the Owls, and go on to win the set 19-25.

Set:2 (Temple25-FDU18)

FDU continued their momentum from the first set going up 1-3 to start. But kills from Jaya Moore and Khenedi Guest rallied the Owls to tie the game at 4.
Temple would go point for point with FDU until Olivia Hummel scored four straight giving the Owls some breathing room, at 14-10.
The Owls would continue to pressure FDU with points from Kennedy Crayton and Moore as they took a commanding 22-15 lead. Temple would eventually close out the set 25-18 with a kill from Greene.

Set:3 (Temple21-FDU25)

Crayton continues her great season starting the scoring for the Owls as the game was tight early at 2-2.
FDU was stingy on defense forcing blocks and errors on Temple. It was freshman Leah Hampton who provided a bit of a spark with two kills closing the gap to three as FDU led 9-12.
Hummel and Greene continued to make an impact with timely scoring recording four straight points, closing the gap within two at 20-22. But FDU would not budge and close out the set 21-25.

Set:4 (Temple25-FDU15)

Crayton and Guest started the scoring for the Owls as Temple took an early 7-5 lead. But FDU would gain momentum defensively, going on a 0-3 run retaking the lead at 11-12.
Guest helped Temple go on an offensive flurry as they scored six straight leading the set 17-12. She recorded 12 kills and was hitting an efficient .611 through four sets.
After taking a commanding lead, the Owls would go on to win the set 25-15.

Set:5 (Temple15-FDU8)

Temple started off the set hot going up 5-1, Guest continued to be a force for the Owls as FDU had no answer for her scoring and defense.
The Owls looked great in the final set giving little breathing room to FDU, extending their lead to six as they went up 12-6.
It was all Temple late in the set as they would go on to win 15-8 with a kill from Steel Sinai.
