PHILADELPHIA – This weekend Temple volleyball opens conference play at home in McGonigle Hall. The Owls will host UAB Friday at noon, and Charlotte Sunday at noon, both matches will stream live on ESPN+. Temple closed out non-conference play with a five-set win over Fairleigh Dickinson, and enter the weekend on a three-match win streak. The Owls have won four of their last five games.
News In the Nest
The Owls are coming off a five-set victory against FDU. In that match, three Owls recorded double digit kills: Khenedi Guest nearly tied her season high with 14, Christiana Greene had 13 and Olivia Hummel lead the way with 16.
In addition to these players, keep an eye out for Senior Lexi Yoza who leads the team in assists with 338 and is second on the team in digs. Freshmen Kennedy Crayton has also made a big impact early in her career; she is currently 3rd on the team in kills with 105. Defensively, Claudia Rivera is leading the way for Temple in the digs department with 131; and the middle blocker Steel Sinai is a major contributor who has 32 blocks on the year.
Scouting UAB:
The Blazers are currently on a three-game slide and hold a 6-6 record going into conference play. On offense they look to Kennedy Vaughn who leads the team with 159 kills and is averaging 3.38 kills per set. Rachel McCollum, the teams assist leader with 247 on the season. Defensively, they rely on Delaney Bowser who has 173 digs, and Addyson Smock who leads the team in blocks with 50.

Scouting Charlotte:
The 49ers enter the weekend with a record of 3-9 having lost their last two matches to East Carolina and Davidson. On offense they look to Clara Briley for scoring as she has 110 kills on the year. Setter Harper Hall is the assist leader with 346 on the year. Defensively, Milan Cannon is the season leader in blocks with 47, and Chloe Maughan the leader in digs with 155.
