PHILADELPHIA - Temple women's volleyball (9-4) dominated UAB (6-7) Friday afternoon in three sets to sweep their first conference opponent of the season. The Owls got major contributions from Jaya Moore who led the team in kills and points with 12.5, and Daniella Gonzalez Murati who led in assists with 18. Four players for the Owls were extremely efficient hitting above .300 on the afternoon, (Guest-.667, Moore-.500, Greene-.462, Sinai-.333).

Set:1 (Temple 25 - UAB 15)

Khenedi Guest and Jaya Moore got the scoring started for the Owls, as the first set was tight to start at 4 all.
UAB would fight their way to gain a two point advantage on Temple, till the Owls went on a 4-0 run retaking the lead at 13-10.
Temple would go on another huge run, started by Freshmen Kennedy Crayton, rattling off six straight points to extend the lead to 19-12. The Owls would go on to win the set 25-15.

Set:2 (Temple 25 - UAB 21)

Moore and Olivia Hummel got the Owls up early as Temple took the 4-2 lead. The blazers continued to keep things tight as they went on a 2-0 run tying the game at 11.
UAB would take a small lead midway through the set, until a kill from Christiana Greene and ace from Gonzalez Murati ended their run with the Owls going up 18-17.
Temple continued to apply pressure, forcing errors on UAB with their defense. An ace by Lexi Yoza ended the set with Temple winning 25-21.

Set:3 (Temple 25 - UAB 13)

Guest and Moore continued to cause problems for UAB as they were responsible for all four points to start the third set as Temple took an early 4-0 lead.
The Owls continued to dominate the set at the media time out, with kills from Hummel and Steel Sinai as Temple took their advantage to 15-8.
UAB tried to battle their way back, going on a 3-0 run but it was ended with highflying kills from Greene and Crayton as the Owls led 17-11.
Temple was relentless in their play, scoring 7 of the last 8 points in the set to close out with a 25-13 win and a sweep of the blazers.
