PHILADELPHIA - Riding a three-game winning streak, the Temple University field hockey team returns to BIG EAST action Friday, making the short trip to Collegeville, Pa., to face Villanova at noon.

Temple (5-3, 1-0 BIG EAST) enters the matchup off a weekend sweep of Georgetown and Hofstra last weekend. Villanova (5-3, 0-1 BIG EAST) is coming off losses to No. 10 UConn (3-1) and Drexel (2-0).

Friday's contest will be played at Snell Field Hockey Field at Ursinus.

The Owls opened BIG EAST play Friday with a 2-1 win over Georgetown. Temple trailed 1-0 at halftime before Rozlyn Maciejewski scored twice in the third quarter. She tied the contest at the 32:39 mark before adding the game-winner less than eight minutes later. Alex Lepore made five saves as Temple outshot Georgetown, 15-10, including an 11-3 advantage after halftime.

Two days later, Temple again erased a halftime deficit in a 4-2 victory over Hofstra. Winslow DiPeso scored her first goal of the season early in the third quarter to tie the game at 1-1. After Hofstra regained the lead, Kathryn Gauvin responded just 36 seconds later before Lonneke Kerkhof and Amanda Martin scored in the fourth quarter. The Owls finished the game with three unanswered goals and held a 15-7 advantage in shots.

Six different Owls scored across the two victories, while Maciejewski led Temple with two goals, one assist and five points. Kerkhof added a goal and an assist, including the game-winner against Hofstra.

MACIEJEWSKI, KERKHOF EARN BIG EAST HONORS
Rozlyn Maciejewski and Lonneke Kerkhof were named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday after helping Temple to a 2-0 week.

Maciejewski led the Owls with five points, scoring both goals in Temple's 2-1 comeback win over Georgetown before adding an assist against Hofstra. Kerkhof recorded an assist and a defensive save against Georgetown before scoring the game-winning goal in the fourth quarter of Temple's 4-2 win over Hofstra.

It marked Maciejewski's second career BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll selection. Temple has now earned four conference weekly honors this season, with Lucia Magro and Kathryn Gauvin also previously earning spots on the Honor Roll.

MACIEJEWSKI, MAGRO LEAD THE ATTACK

Maciejewski and Magro share the team lead with 11 points through eight games. Magro has a team-high five goals, while Maciejewski has four goals and is tied with Kerkhof and Mina Uezbe for the team lead with three assists.

GAUVIN PROVIDES A SPARK

Kathryn Gauvin has scored three goals over Temple's last four games, finding the cage against Monmouth, Rider and Hofstra. The sophomore's latest goal came just 36 seconds after Hofstra took a 2-1 lead Sunday, tying the contest and starting a run of three unanswered Temple goals.
