Owls Travel to Phoenix For the GCU Invitational

PHILADELPHIA - The Owls will fly across the country this weekend as they head to Phoenix Arizona to compete in the GCU invitational. The three match series will take place in Global Credit Union Arena; where they will battle San Francisco on Friday at 7 p.m, Louisiana Monroe on Saturday at 6 p.m, and Grand Canyon on Sunday at 5 p.m.

In 3 games, Temple has totaled 120 kills and 156 points as they go into this weekend with a record of 2-1. Junior Transfer Khenedi Guest leads the team in kills with 31, followed by Senior Olivia Hummel(26) and Freshmen Kennedy Crayton (23). Senior Lexi Yoza dominates the assist department totaling 100 in just 3 games, she is averaging 10 assists per-set. The Owls will look to build upon their early season success in Phoenix, AZ this weekend.
Scouting San Francisco
SFU enters this weekend with a record of 2-2. Sophomore Petra Fritz, leads the team offensively and defensively with 57 kills and 33 digs. She is flanked by Jordan Smart who leads the team in Assists(72) and Aces(4). They are coached by Diogo Silva who enters his first year as head coach for the program.
Scouting Louisiana Monroe
LMU enters this weekend with a record of 2-2. Sophomore Aniya Hall leads the team in Kills (54)and Aces(5). The defense is anchored by Freshmen Tatum Clay who leads the team in digs (71) and senior Briana Raney who leads the team in blocks(14). They are coached by Reid Gann who is entering his second season at the helm for the Warhawks.
Scouting Grand Canyon University
GCU goes into this weekend with a record of 1-2. The team is led by Kendra Potts, who is entering her third season as head coach. Offensively, GCU will look to Senior Starr Williams who leads the team in scoring with 41 kills and Sophomore Bella Nunez who leads the team in assists with 48. Defensively, GCU will rely on sophomore Aubrey Bellus who leads the team in blocks with 10.

This is the first time Temple will meet San Francisco, Louisiana Monroe, and Grand Canyon University in regular season competition.
