Joe Agnello
Joe Agnello, who spent the last four seasons on the Stevens Institute of Technology coaching staff, makes his debut at Temple as an assistant coach. Agnello will coach the Owls’ outfielders, catchers and first basemen.

At Stevens, Agnello helped the Ducks to the program’s most wins (27) in 2006, his first season with the team. The following season he assisted in guiding the team to the finals of the Conference Tournament. In 2008, the Howell, N. J. native aided in the program’s transition from the Skyline Conference to the more competitive Empire 8. Last season, he was rewarded for his hard work and promoted to Associate Head Coach, where he helped Stevens to a 21-20 record and a runner-up finish at the 2009 ECAC Metro Tournament.

Prior to Stevens, Agnello spent his first two seasons as an assistant coach at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, N.J. During his time with the Jersey Blues, the team compiled over 70 victories and produced several all-conference and all-region honorees and a first-team All-American.

As a player, Agnello was a starting middle infielder for Brookdale from 2000-01. In his two years, Agnello led the Jersey Blues to a combined record of 62-25. Brookdale came within one game of the Junior College World Series in both seasons that he was there.

Following his tenure at Brookdale, Agnello enrolled at Wagner College in Staten Island, N.Y., where he earned a spot on the Seahawks’ baseball team. On the field, Agnello started 38 games at second base and 10 contests behind the plate as a junior before making the move to third base, where he started 46 games in his senior year. He was also named the team captain in 2003.

A 2003 Wagner graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing, Agnello was offered a contract to play professionally for the Avigliana Bees Baseball Club in Italy.
