Jim Glavin joined the Temple rowing staff for the 2017-18 year. A national caliber coach, he guided seven US National Teams in junior and elite rowing competition.
As a high school coach at St. Joseph's Prep, Glavin was named the Male Junior Rowing Coach of the Year in 2010. He also returned to his alma mater to serve as an assistant coach, while having coaching stints at Harriton High, Baldwin School and Vesper Club, helping Baldwin to multiple national titles.
A four-year varsity rower at nearby Saint Joseph's, he captained the 1968-69 rowing team, serving as the stroke on varsity eight which won three regattas. As a senior in 1969-70, he moved to the bow to help the varsity eight win the Dad Vail Regatta for first and only time in school history.
Glavin stroked the 1968 National Champion Intermediate Four as a member of the Vesper Club.
