Jim McLaughlin is in his season with the Temple men's crew team. A graduate student in Temple's Mechanical Engineering Department, he serves as an assistant coach for the Owls.

A former rower at Brown University, he was a key member of the Bears' squad for four years. In 2013, he moved to Boston and joined Union Boat Club and competed with them in numerous regattas.

McLaughlin became the novice girls coach at Neponset Boat Club in the autumn of 2015 and also coached Milton High School in the spring.

He began his rowing career in Philadelphia for Monsignor Bonner in 2003.
