A four-year letterwinner in track and field at John Carroll University, NCAA DIII in Cleveland, Ohio, Mihalich graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Spainsh and English.  He lived and trained in Spain before his junior season at John Carroll.  While at Temple, Mihalich is pursuing a Master's degree in Sport and Recreation Management.
