Mariana Folco

Mariana Folco began coaching in 2007 as the Brookline High School Novice Girls' Coach. During her three years at Brookline, Mariana led crews to medal at the Massachusetts Public School Rowing Association Championship and the Lowell Novice Regatta.
In the summers of 2008 and 2009, Mariana had the opportunity to coach Summer Masters Rowing and Sculling at Boston University where she engaged adult rowers of all levels in rigorous workouts and technical drills. She also went on to coach an indoor training session with Boston University Masters where she created a competitive and fun winter season to facilitate her rowers' transition into the spring season.
Mariana spent the past year and a half coaching Novice Girls at Texas Rowing Center in Austin where she led her crews to medal at the Texas State Championship Regatta, Heart of Texas Regatta, Central District Youth Rowing Championship, Head of the Colorado and Head of the Oklahoma. During her first season with Texas Rowing Center, Mariana played an active role in recruiting novice girls and succeeded in doubling the size of her team to provide greater depth to the program. In her final season, Mariana was honored to have a trophy for the Texas State Championship Regatta created in her name for her contributions to the team during her three-season stay.
Mariana began her rowing career as a freshman at Brookline High School in the Boston area, where she was elected team co-captain during her senior year. Mariana has rowed for over 10 years with programs around the world including CRI in Boston, Imperial College in London, and Texas Rowing Center in Austin.
Mariana received a Bachelor of Science in Communications with honors from Boston University in 2009 and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Social Work at the University of Pennsylvania. She has made Vesper Boat Club her new rowing home in Philadelphia and has enjoyed getting to know the Schuylkill. Mariana also loves running and has completed three marathons in Austin, San Francisco and Boston.
