Michael Rosso
Rosso, a 2015 graduate of Rutgers University, joined the Temple gymnastics staff as assistant coach prior to the 2015-16 season. Previously, he spent two years as a volunteer assistant coach for the Scarlet Knights.

In his second year as an assistant coach, Rosso led the Owls vault and floor lineups to record-setting accomplishments. In just the Owls’ second meet of the season, Rosso’s vault squad shattered the program vault record with a 48.875 they later reset on March 1 with a 49.125. Throughout the season, the Owls tallied 11 scores of 9.8 or above on vault that included the program’s first score of 9.875 from junior Sahara Gipson. Gipson’s mark sat just shy of the program record of 9.9 that was set in 1996. The scoring success gave the Owls eight individual event titles on vault and two ECAC Championship medals with a silver from Gipson and a bronze from Daisy Todd.

Overall, Rosso’s vault squad at Temple posted the program’s top four event totals of all time. On floor, Rosso helped the floor lineup to a season-high 48.9 and eight scores of 9.8 or above. 2016 ECAC Co-Champion on floor, Briana Odom continued her success under Rosso’s leadership with five individual event titles in the 2017 season on the event.

While studying communications at Rutgers, Rosso was a student assistant coach for the women's gymnastics team for two years. His responsibilities included equipment management and set up, gymnastics drill set up, and hands-on spotting on all four events. During his time, Rutgers gymnastics saw its first NCAA regional appearance since 2007 and recorded six of the top 10 highest team scores in program history, including the current record score 196.225.

Rosso was a gymnast at Surgents Elite School of Gymnastics in Roselle Park, N.J., where he was a five-time junior Olympic national qualifier. He also gained valuable experience coaching at numerous camps such as the University of Arkansas, Camp Woodward, and Lake Murray Gymnastics Camp in Columbia, S.C.

Rosso currently resides in Marlboro, N.J. His brother, Ralph, is an assistant coach for the Arizona State University women's gymnastics team.
