After a standout four-year career with the Owls, Chelsea Tupuola now joins the staff as a student assistant coach while she completes her bachelor’s degree in sport and recreation management.
Tupuola was named the 2012 Atlantic 10 Libero of the Year and also earned A-10 Second Team honors. She was named the MVP of both the Temple Invitational and Big 5 Tournament as a senior, and finished her career with 1,429 digs which ranks seventh all-time in program history. Her 579 digs for the 2012 season ranked second all-time in a single season at Temple, and she ranked first in the Atlantic 10 and 33rd among all NCAA Division I players with 5.31 digs per set.
Other senior season highlights for Tupuola included being named the A-10 Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 8 and recording a career-high 39 digs in a five-set win at Saint Louis on Nov. 2. She tallied 30 or more digs in four matches, and 20 more more digs in 12 matches. In total, Tupuola played in 110 matches for Temple in four years.
