Background

Taniguchi comes to Temple from 'Iolani School in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she helped lead the Raiders to multiple Division I state and Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH) championships during her prep career. As a senior, Taniguchi earned First Team All-ILH honors and was selected to the All-State Tournament Team after helping 'Iolani capture both the Division I State Championship and ILH Championship. She was also recognized as one of Hawaii's Fab 15 players, earned the prestigious 'Iolani Award and was named to the Headmaster's List.

Prior to her senior season, Taniguchi received Second Team All-ILH and All-State Honorable Mention recognition as a junior after helping the Raiders win another ILH championship. She earned ILH Honorable Mention honors as a sophomore before contributing to Division I State and ILH championship teams during her freshman campaign. Outside of high school competition, Taniguchi was selected for the NTDP Aloha Region Accelerator Program and enjoyed success with her club team, helping capture two Transpacific Volleyball Championships while earning a bid to the USAV National Championships.
