Matt Raquet joins the Temple women's basketball staff full-time in 2012-13 as the administraive/video coordinator after spending two seasons in a similar role as a graduate extern. Raquet is a 2009 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, where he was a four-year member of the track & field team.
As a javelin thrower for the Panthers, Raquet placed third at the Big East Outdoor Championships in 2008 and sixth in 2009. He also earned a top-10 finish at the conference championships in 2007, placing eighth.
Raquet is a native of Reading, Pa., where he attended Holy Name High School. As a senior he was the county javelin champion and placed 10th in the state. Raquet was also a first team all-state selection as a defensive back for the football team, and an all-county and all-division player on the basketball team.
During the fall of 2008, Raquet interned at Venture Outdoors, a nonprofit organization that focuses on environmental stewardship in the Pittsburgh region. His primary responsibilities involved researching foundations and writing grants for the organization.
Raquet earned his bachelor's degree in communications from Pittsburgh in May, 2009, along with a certificate in public and professional writing. He is currently working toward a master's degree in sport management at Temple.
