Talisa Samano enters her fifth season with the Temple women's basketball program for the 2022-23 campaign.
With the Owls, Samano is the Academics, Mental Health and Compliance liaison, responsible for community relations/community service activities, strengthening WBB Alumni relations, assisting in fundraising and marketing efforts for the WBB program (Hoops 'n Heels Program), coordination of all team meals and game day tickets, assisting with the oversight of the annual Women’s Basketball budget, and oversight of general basketball office operations.
Samano spent six years in San Diego working in hospitality. Her work experience includes working for the luxury boutique, Kimpton Hotels, and most recently as a Sales Manager for Hilton Hotels.
A two-time Temple University graduate, Samano earned her bachelor’s degree in strategic communications with a concentration in public relations and earned her Master of Science through the Sport Business Executive Program, earning a spot on the Dean’s List of Excellence. As an undergrad, she spent four years with the Owls’ women’s basketball program as head student-manager, her first two seasons under the direction of Dawn Staley and the final two under Tonya Cardoza.
As a senior, Samano interned for the 76ers as a community relations intern, where she assisted with the Read to Achieve program, helped organize community events (76ers draft party, Summer Beach Bash), and helped fulfill requests for autographed items, tickets, and speaking appearances. She also served two stints as a volunteer team manager for USA Basketball's U-18 Olympic trials in Colorado Springs, Co.
Samano is a native of Santa Cruz County, Calif. and aspires to work for the NBA Academy’s women’s program in Mexico City.
