PHILADELPHIA (December 1) - Temple fans will need to keep their remote controls handy this

weekend. The Owls will experience a rare event when the men's basketball and football teams

will be going head-to-head.

This Saturday, December 4 the Owls' basketball and football programs will appear on television

at the same time. Both games are 12 noon starts. The No. 10 ranked hoops team travels to Wake

Forest for an A-10 vs. ACC basketball matchup, while the football team travels south to face

the No. 23 ranked Hurricanes of the University of Miami.

Basketball will be televised nationally on ESPN and football will be aired locally on Comcast

SportsNet. Temple radio will also carry both games. The football team can be heard on the AM

dial at 610 WIP while the basketball team can be heard on WZZD 990 AM.

Also in action this weekend are both the women's basketball and volleyball teams. On Friday,

December 3 the volleyball team (25-5) travels to University Park, Pennsylvania to face Baylor

University (25-8) in an NCAA Tournament first-round matchup set to begin at 5 p.m. The

women's basketball team (0-2) hosts Villanova (3-2) at The Forum on Saturday,

December 4. The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. tip.
