Wisconsin Shocks No. 17 Temple, Downs Owls 62-44

MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Jon Bryant and Charlie Wills each scored 12 points as Wisconsin beat No. 17 Temple 62-44 on Wednesday night.
Bryant scored all of his points on 3-point baskets as Wisconsin (8-4) made a season-high nine 3-pointers. Andy Kowske added 10 for the Badgers.
Quincy Wadley led Temple (6-3) with a career-high 25 points, and Lynn Greer added 15.
Temple shot just 27.1 percent from the field en route to its lowest point total since a 59-35 loss to Massachusetts in 1996.
Temple, which has been without point guard Pepe Sanchez since he sprained an ankle in the first game, also played without Mark Karcher. Karcher
sprained a shoulder Monday against Cleveland State.
The Owls missed their first seven field-goal attempts and were held scoreless the first 6:28 as the Badgers took a 9-0 lead.
Wisconsin's biggest lead of the first half was 10 at 18-8, with all of its points coming on 3-pointers. Bryant hit three, and Duany Duany had two.
The Badgers, who were averaging less than 15 3-point attempts, were 7-of-14 from beyond the arc in the first half and didn't score a 2-point basket
until Kowske's layup with 5:22 remaining.
Wadley, who entered the game averaging 8.4 points, accounted for more than half of the Owls' first-half offense with 11 points, including three
3-pointers.
After leading 27-19 at halftime, the Badgers stretched their lead to 39-23 early in the second half. Temple closed to 40-29 after six straight points by
Wadley, but the Badgers pulled away with a 12-2 run capped by consecutive layups by Kowske.
