Field Hockey Falls to Delaware, 2-0

Philadelphia, PA (Sept. 17) -- The Temple Owl field hockey team fell to No. 20

Delaware, 2-0, today at Geasey Field.

Temple battled the Blue Hens to a scoreless first period before Sara

Hills scored at 31:46 of the second stanza. Delaware's second score came

with 13:10 remaining from Juli Byrd. The Owls were playing without

leading scorer Jill Polmateer (St. Johnsville, N.Y./Johnstown) who

injured her knee yesterday in practice. The fifth year senior is lost

for the season.

Temple goalie Serene McGrath (Cinnaminson, N.J./Little Flower) turned

away five shots.

The Owls will next be in action on Sunday, September 21 when

Northwestern comes to town to play a 12 noon game at Geasey Field.
