Temple Field Hockey Falls to No. 2 Penn State, 7-1

Philadelphia (Sept. 20) - The Temple field hockey team lost, 7-1, to No. 2 ranked
Penn State today at Geasey Field.
The Nittany Lions jumped out to a 6-0 halftime lead. Penn State's
leading scorer Maegan Galie (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) scored at
27:44 in the first half. Teammates Lindsey Gehris (Medford,
N.J./Shawnee) and Meredith Schulzitski (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton)
each had two first half scores.
Temple played well in the second half, getting a goal from Tori Russell
(Easton, Pa./Easton Area) on an assist from Jessica Jaworski (Voorhees,
N.J./Eastern). The Lions did not score again until 3:16 was left in the
game.
The Cherry and White will embark on a two-game road trip to play No. 16
Duke on Sept. 25 and Richmond on Sept. 26 before returning home to host
their Atlantic 10 opener against West Chester on Sept. 29 at 3:30 p.m.
