Philadelphia, Pa. (Oct.10) - Penn field hockey dropped to 2-7 on the year after
falling to Temple, 1-0, at Franklin Field Tuesday
night.
After a back and forth first period, the Owls were
able to jump to a 1-0 lead when
a shot slid past a Quaker defender and under a
sprawling Carrie Wilhelm
(Hamburg, Pa.)with 3:40 remaining.
In the second-half, the Red and Blue put up a strong
effort with a flurry of shots
early in the period and a series of nine penalty
corners late in the frame, but
could not manage to find the back of the net.
Penn outshot Temple 12-1 in the period and 14-5 for
the contest.
In the net for the Quakers, Carrie Wilhelm recorded
2 saves.
Penn is back in action when it travels to California
to face Stanford, Cal Berkeley
and Pacific, October 14-17.
