"Morning Madness" To Unveil Men's Basketball Team Oct. 19

PHILADELPHIA - Interested fans, resident students and members of the
sports media will have the opportunity to get a first glimpse of the
2000-01 Temple University men's basketball team on Thursday, Oct. 19,
when the Owls stage their annual "Morning Madness" open house at The
Liacouras Center, beginning at 6:00 a.m.
The entirety of Coach John Chaney's morning practice session will be
open for public viewing, followed by Temple players and coaches being
made available for media interviews and photos on the Liacouras Center
floor at 8:00 a.m.
For the public, Morning Madness activities will include season ticket
sales for Temple students and the general public, coffee and doughnuts
as supplied by Krispy Kreme, hoop shooting games on the concourse level
and the "I beat Pete" Comcast SportsNet challenge.
The 2000-01 Temple basketball schedule officially gets underway Nov.
13, as the Owls host Delaware in a first round game of the Preseason
NIT. Prior to the season opener, the Owls will play exhibition contests
at the Liacouras Center on Nov. 5 against the Double Pump All-Stars and
again on Nov. 8 versus the London Leopards.
