De Paul to Fill Void in 2000-01 Men's Basketball Schedule
10.27.00 | Men's Basketball
PHILADELPHIA - Temple University has added De Paul to its 2000-01 men's
basketball schedule to fill a void left by the University of Cincinnati,
it was confirmed today by Director of Athletics Dave O'Brien. Cincinnati
notified the Temple Athletic Department last week that it would cancel
its January 20, 2001 visit to Philadelphia, due to an error in
scheduling.
The Owls will play at De Paul on the same date as originally scheduled
for the Cincinnati game, January 20. The De Paul contest will also be
played at the original game time of 2:00 p.m. Eastern, and will be
covered live by ABC Television.
De Paul gives the Owls a sixth opponent that participated in the NCAA
Tournament last year, joining Wisconsin, Duke, Dayton, St. Bonaventure
and Pennsylvania on the Owls' 2000-01 schedule. The game will mark the
fourth of all time between the Owls and Blue Demons, with Temple holding
a 3-0 advantage in the series. The last meeting was in the 1997-98
season, when the Temple posted a 74-43 win at the Liacouras Center in
Philadelphia.
