Aggressive Play Lifts S. W. Missouri State Over Temple Field Hockey, 2-1, in Overtime

PHILADELPHIA (October 7) - The Temple field hockey team lost, 2-1, today in overtime
to S.W. Missouri State at Geasey Field.
The Bears' Abigail Rolfe scored the first goal of the game with 13:22
left in the first half.
Virginia Gonzalez (Reading, Pa./Twin Valley) responded with a goal for
the Owls with 20:56 left in the game. She was assisted on the goal by
Haley Dervinis (Larksville, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) and Jessica
Jaworski (Voorhees, N.J.).
Aggressive play on both sides held the score tie at 1-1 and forced
overtime. The Owls had control over play for the first ten minutes of
overtime, but they could not stop the Bears. Shannon Keaveny scored the
game winning goal for S. W. Missouri State with 5:31 left in overtime.
She was assisted by Liz Lopez.
The Owls will next be in action on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at the University of
Pennsylvania at 7:00 p.m. Their next home game is on Saturday, Oct. 14
at noon against Atlantic 10 rival, No. 7 Massachusetts.
