Men's Basketball Signs Brian Polk to Letter of Intent

Philadelphia - Brian Polk, a standout basketball player from Sussex Tech in
Georgetown, Del., has signed a national letter of intent to attend Temple
University, it was announced April 17 by Head Coach John Chaney.
Polk, a 6-3, 195-pound guard, averaged nearly 32 points and 11 rebounds per
game this past season. He was named the Player of the Year in the state of
Delaware as a senior. In addition, Polk, who played for Jerry Kobasa at
Sussex Tech, averaged 4.5 assists, three blocks and six steals per game.
"We are very pleased to welcome Brian to our team," Chaney said. "We look
forward to his continued growth and success at Temple as he builds on his
high school accomplishments. Brian comes from a wonderful family, and we are
very happy for him and for his family."
Polk scored 2,056 points in his four-year career. Only three other players
in the history of the state have reached 2,000 points and only two scored
more than Polk. He was also a first team all-state player as a junior and
senior.
