Dervinis Named Atlantic 10 Conference Field Hockey Rookie of the Week

PHILADELPHIA (Sept. 25) - Temple's Haley Dervinis was named the Atlantic

10 Conference Field Hockey rookie of the week for her performance on

Sunday, September 24 in the Owls', 3-2, loss to undefeated Georgetown.

A freshman midfielder, Dervinis assisted on a goal by Kacy Ziomek

(Sweet Valley, Pa./Lake Lehman) with 6:50 left in the game. Temple

remained aggressive but the Owls could not pull away from the Hoyas.

Dervinis also added an assist vs. Towson on Sept. 9, 2000.

Dervinis, a native of Larksville, Pa., graduated from Wyoming Valley

West High School.
