Aaron Cleared For 2000-01 Men's Basketball Season

PHILADELPHIA- Head Coach John Chaney announced today that freshman recruit Carlton Aaron has been declared eligible to compete for Temple University in the 2000-01 men's basketball season by the NCAA Clearinghouse.
A 6-9, 280-pound front-liner out of Winchendon Academy in Winchendon, Massachusetts, Aaron also prepped South Bronx High School in New York City (1995-97) and Atlantic Shores High School in Virginia Beach, Va. (1997-99). Last season at Winchendon Academy, he averaged 16 points and 11 rebounds per game. As a sophomore at South Bronx he was named to the All-New York City Team and as a junior at Atlantic Shores he was named the Tidewater Region Player of the Year.
Temple will officially open its 2000-01 season at home against Delaware in a first round game of the Preseason National Invitation Tournament on Dec. 13.
