OWLS STAY ALIVE WITH 1-0 VICTORY EXPLORERS

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple defeated La Salle 1-0 in a crucial A-10 Conference contest on Thursday ,afternoon at Geasey Field. The win keeps the Owls (8-10,2-3,A-10) alive for a berth in the Atlantic 10 tournament. Temple needs to win its final game versus West Chester on Saturday at Geasey Field and Richmond to at least lose one of its two remaining games this weekend. The Spiders face Massachusetts Saturday and Rhode Island on Sunday.

After a scoreless first half, in which the Owls' defense held the Explorers without a shot on goal and limited LaSalle to a single shot on goal for the game. Temple senior Juliann Leskiw (Wilkes-Barre,PA./Coughlin) scored the winning goal with 18:04 remaining in the game. The goal was assisted by sophomore Emily Moyer (Dresher,PA/Upper Dublin).

La Salle's freshman goal keeper Colleen Bolger recorded 14 saves. Owls' goalkeeper April Herman (Lancaster,PA./Conestoga Valley) posted her second shutout in the Owls last three games.

Temple (8-10,2-3,A-10) will host West Chester in their season and A-10 Conference finale on Saturday at Geasey Field the start time is noon.
