TEMPLE BASKETBALL PLAYER DAVID HAWKINS DECLARED ELIGIBLE

PHILADELPHIA-- Sophomore David Hawkins of the Temple University Basketball Team has been declared eligible and will be available for participation when the Owls play Alabama in the Jimmy V Classic at Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Tuesday (7:00 p.m., ESPN).

Hawkins, who appeared in all 37 games last season and started 26 times for the Owls, sat out the first seven games of the season under NCAA guidelines. As a true freshman in the 2000-01 season, Hawkins was Temple's fourth leading scorer and rebounder with respective per-game averages of 10.4 points and 4.4 rebounds.
