Owls Turn Back Dayton

PHILADELPHIA (Feb. 24, AP)- Lynn Greer scored 26 points and Kevin Lyde added 12 points and 12 rebounds as Temple defeated Dayton 70-62 Saturday.
Quincy Wadley had 12 points and David Hawkins 10 for Temple (16-12, 10-4 Atlantic 10 Conference).
Tony Stanley scored 19 points and David Morris added 13 points and seven assists for the Flyers (16-11, 7-7).
The Owls scored the first six points of the second half to take a 38-31 lead before Dayton closed to 38-37 on a 3-pointer by Ramod Marshall.
Greer then scored eight points during a 16-7 run that gave the Owls a 54-43 advantage with seven minutes left, and the Flyers never got closer than eight points.
A 3-point shot by Brooks Hall gave Dayton a 29-21 edge, with 4:20 left in the first half, but Temple then scored 10 straight points, capped by a Greer 3-pointer.
Morris made two free throws with eight seconds left to tie the score at 31 at halftime.
Greer, who leads the nation in minutes played, played the entire game for the 21st time this season.
Temple had 18 offensive boards and outrebounded Dayton 41-31.
