#17 OWLS UPSET BY DELAWARE 2-1

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple lost a tough game 2-1 to Delaware on Wednesday afternoon at Geasey Field.

The loss drops the Owls' record to 4-2 overall and the win raises the Blue Hens' record to 4-1. Temple entered the ranked 17th in the nation.

Delaware opened the scoring with a goal by senior back Juli Byrd. Owls'back Virginia Gonzalez (Reading, Pa./ Twin Valley) tied the score at one with a goal assisted by freshman midfielder Kelly Walsh at 6:27 of the first period. Delaware's junior back Kim Wagaman scored the game-winning goal at 31:24 of the first period.

Temple goalkeeper April Herman (Lancaster, Pa/ Conestoga Valley) recorded 13 saves and Blue Hens' goalkeeper Stephanie Judefind posted three saves.

Temple's (4-2) is schedule to visit Hofstra on Saturday September 15th at noon.
