TEMPLE FIELD HOCKEY WINS FIFTH STRAIGHT WITH 1-0 VICTORY OVER PENN

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple field hockey won its fifth straight game defeating Penn 1-0 at Penn's Franklin Field on Wednesday night, October 9. The Owls (6-6) were held scoreless for the first 60 minutes of the game until Senior co-captain Virginia Gonzalez (Reading, Pa./Twin Valley) scored her first goal of the season lifting the Owls to the win

Gonzalez scored an unassisted goal with 9:03 remaining in the second half lifting the Owls to their fourth win in six road games this season. Temple goalie Erin Conroy (Centereach, NY/Centereach) had eight saves in posting her first solo shutout of the season, raised her record to 4-5.

Penn goalie Amanda Jacobs had nine saves. The Quakers out shot the Owls 15-11.

Temple (6-6) will open its Atlantic 10 Conference schedule against LaSalle on Sunday, October 13 at 12 noon.
