TEMPLE FIELD HOCKEY DEFEATED 1-0 BY LASALLE, ENDING THE OWLS FIVE GAME WIN STREAK.

PHILADELPHIA --Temple field hockey were defeated 1-0 by LaSalle (3-9, 1-0) in the Atlantic 10 Conference opener for both teams at Hank DeVincent Stadium on Sunday, October 13. The Owls (6-7, 0-1) had their five game win streak snapped by the Explorers. Emily Simone scored the winning goal with 18:58 remaining in the game, ending a five game losing streak for the Explorers.
Temple outshot LaSalle 18-6 and held a 22-0 advantage in penalty corners. The Owls also missed an opportunity to score when their leading goal scorer Melissa DeCesaris (Shavertown, Pa./Lake-Lehman) was awarded a penalty stroke but was stopped on a great effort by the LaSalle goalie Collen Bolger. Temple goalie Erin Conroy (Centereach, NY/Centereach) had three saves dropping her record to 4-6 and 0-1 in the A-10.

Temple (6-7, 0-1) will host Georgetown in a non-conference game on Friday, October 18
