Temple (7-7, 0-1) has won six of their last seven games. The loss drops the Hoyas' record to 5-6 overall.
Freshman Rachel Barber (Millville, NJ. /Millville) scored two goals, junior Melissa DeCesaris (Shavertown, Pa./Lake Lehman) added two assists and Owls goalie Erin Conroy (Centereach, NY. /Centereach) posted her second shutout of the season.
Junior Rachel Kasper (Hunlock Creek, Pa./ Lake Lehman) opened the scoring for the Owls on an assist from DeCeasaris with 6:07 remaining in the first half. Barber scored the an unassisted goal with 45 seconds remaining in the first half to give the Owls a 2-0 halftime lead. Barber tallied har second goal on an assist from Junior Haley Dervinis (Larksville, Pa./ Wyoming Valley West) and DeCesaris (Temple's leading scorer with 15 points) with 5:56 remaining in the second half.
Conroy has 2.5 shutouts on the season and has allowed just one goal in the last 199 minutes she has played. She was replaced late in the second half.
Hoyas' goalie Jess Herring had five saves.
Temple (7-7, 0-1) will host Richmond in an Atlantic 10 Conference game on Sunday, October
