TEMPLE FIELD HOCKEY DEFEATED 2-1 BY A-10 LEADER RICHMOND

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple field hockey team loss 2-1 to Richmond this afternoon at Geasey Field.
The Spiders' Brittney Parrish scored the game-winning goal on an assist from Jill Murphy with 23:29 left in the contest. The loss drops the Owls' record to 7-8 and 0-2 in Atlantic 10 Conference play. The Spiders improved their record to 10-6 and 3-0 in the A-10.
Richmond opened the scoring on a goal by Sandeep Kaur on an assist by Emma Bradley with 16:30 remaining in the first half. Richmond netminder Michelle Swartz had four saves in a tough defensive battle.
Owls' Rachel Kasper (Hunlock Creek, Pa./Lake Lehman) tied the game on an assist from junior Haley Dervinis (Larksville, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) with 2:45 remaining in the first half. Temple goalie Erin Conroy (Centereach, NY./Centereach) had three saves.
Temple (7-8, 0-2) will host Rhode Island in an Atlantic 10 Conference game on Saturday, October 26 at Geasey Field. The game's start time is schedule for 12 noon.
