TEMPLE'S LYNN GREER NAMED BIG FIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
2.5.02 | Men's Basketball
PHILADELPHIA -- Capturing his third honor in two days, Temple senior guard Lynn Greer was named Big Five Player of the Week for the week ending on February 3. Earlier this week, Greer was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week and CollegeInsider.Com Star of the Week.
In his first game of the week, Greer registered his second 40-point game of the season when he scored 43 points in the Owls' 91-74 victory over Fordham on January 30 and setting a Liacouras Center record for most points scored by an individual in a game. Greer also posted five assists and two steals in the win. He followed that up with 34 points against Saint Joseph's on February 2. Setting another Liacouras Center, this one for free throws, Greer made a perfect 18 for 18 from the line including 12 for 12 in the last 3:17 of the game.
Today was the third time this season that Greer received the Big Five Honor.
