OWLS TRAVEL TO LOUISVILLE FOR SECOND ROUND NIT MATCHUP

Led by Lynn Greer's 37 points, the Temple Owls advanced to the second round of the 2002 Owens Corning National Invitation Tournament next Tuesday night when they take on Louisville on the road at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN.

The Owls almost let an 11-point led get away but thanks to back-to-back three-point baskets by Alex Wesby in a span of 37-seconds, the Owls regained the lead and never trailed from there. The Owls helped their cause by draining eight-of-10 free throws in the last 1:19.

Sophomore David Hawkins chipped in with a double-double, scoring 14 points while pulling down 10 rebounds. Freshman Nile Murry came off the bench to hit three-of-five shots from beyond the arc to help the Owls cause.
