OWLS TAKE ON SYRACUSE IN CONSOLATION GAME OF THE 2002 OWENS CORNING NATIONAL INVITATION TOURNAMENT

Two of the winningest programs in the nation will face off on Thursday night in the consolation game of the 2002 Owens Corning National Invitation Tournament at Madison Square Garden. The Temple Owls (18-15) will take on the Syracuse Orangemen (23-12) with tipoff at 6:30 p.m.

Temple has won 1,587 games in their rich 106-year history and ranks sixth all-time in wins while Syracuse University has won 1,572 games and ranks seventh all-time.

The two teams last met on December 2, 1989 in the championship game of the Carrier Classic. The then No. 1 Orangemen defeated the Owls 73-56.
