Villanova, PA - The Temple University volleyball team (3-3, 0-0) lost to Villanova University (3-5, 0-0) 3-2 on September 10 at Nevin Fieldhouse. The game scores were 31-29, 30-26, 19-30, 26-30 and 13-15 in a five game match.

Junior Xu Yun posted a double-double for the Owls with a team high 19 kills and 16 digs while junior Yamit Haba had 7 kills and 21 digs. Freshman Stephanie Buynovsky led the team in blocks with seven (1 solo, 6 assisted). Sophomore Alison Runk had 47 assists and 13 digs.

Villanova was led by Kerri Sullivan who had 15 kills and 2 digs. Katie Lanting (12 kills and 6 digs) and Jennifer Edwards (27 assists and 12 digs) were also key contributors for the Wildcats.

As a team, Temple recorded 70 kills, 25 blocks and 81 digs while the Huskies recorded 57 kills, 26 blocks and 77 digs in the five game match.

Temple will kickoff their home schedule this weekend with the TEMPLE CLASSIC. On Friday, September 13th, the Owls will play a 4:00 p.m. match against St. Peter's College and an 8:00 p.m. match against West Virginia University. On Saturday, September 14th, Temple will play at 10:00 a.m. against New Hampshire and against Rutgers at 4:00 p.m.
