OWLS LOSE TO DEFENDING NATIONAL CHAMPIONS #3 MICHIGAN 8-0

MICHIGAN- Temple (1-5) loss 8-0 to defending national champions Michigan (6-1) 8-0 at Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Wolverines ranked number three in the latest coaches poll scored seven first half goals.

The game was delayed for 40 minutes due to an injury (concussion) suffered by Owls goalkeeper Erin Conroy (Centereach, NY/Centereach). Conroy had nine saves in 35 minutes. She was replaced in the second half by junior Mary Zakrzewski (North Wales, Pa./Kennedy-Kenrick Catholic) had five saves and allowed one goal in 35 minutes.Temple is playing one of the toughest schedules in the country, four of the Owls' five losses have come to teams currently ranked in the top 10 in the national rankings (#3 Michigan, #7 Penn State, #8 Iowa and #10 North Carolina).

The Wolverines were led by Stephanie Johnson's two goals, April Fronzoni, Molly Powers and Laura Woitkewitsch each had a goal and an assist. Michigan outshot the Owls 37-1.

Temple (1-5) will face Centaral Michigan on Sunday, September 22 at 12 noon in Ann Arbor.
