PHILADELPHIA -- Temple was defeated 2-1 by Central Michigan in field hockey on Sunday, September 21 at Ann Arbor, Michigan. Central Michigan scored the first two goals of the game. The loss drops the Owls' record to 1-6 and the win raises Central Michigan's record to 6-3.
Sophomore Andrea Duva (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) scored Temple's lone goal from the left side of the circle at the 62:23 of the game. It was Duva's first goal of the season. Owls' goalkeeper Mary Beth Zakrzewski (North Wales, Pa./Kennedy-Kenrick Catholic) started in place of the injured Erin Conroy, who suffered a concussion against Michigan on Saturday, September 21 had eight saves in 70 minutes.
Central Michigan goalkeeper Janel Reed had three saves. Kristy Reed and Michelle Fogla scored the goals.
Temple (1-6) will visit Delaware on Wednesday, September 22 at 3:30 p.m.
