Junior Melissa DeCesaris (Shavertown, Pa./ Lake Lehman) scored both of the Owls' goals. DeCesaris the teams leading scorer with 11 points (five goals and one assist), scored an unassisted goal at 27:32 remaining in the first half and sealed the victory with her second goal at 19:40 remaining in the second period. Juniors Morgan Faria (South Dartmouth, Dartmouth) and Haley Dervins (Larksville, Pa./ Wyoming Valley West) assisted on the second goal.
Temple's goalkeeping tandem of Mary Zakrzewski, 2-1 (North Wales. Pa./'Kennedy-Kenrick Catholic) and Erin Conroy (Centereach, N.Y./ Centereach) shared in the Owls' first shut out of the season. Zakrzewski started the first half and recorded one save and Conroy (1-5) played the entire second half posting three saves and preserving the shutout. It was Conroy's first action since suffering an injury in the first half of the Michigan game.
The Owls (3-6) will visit Davidson on Saturday, October 5 at 12 noon in North Carolina. Temple does not play home again until Sunday October 13 when they play LaSalle.
