MEN'S BASKETBALL TAKES FLIGHT FOR PITTSBURGH TO MEET DUQUESNE

Wednesday's contest is one of six Temple games this season that will not be televised. The Owls are 1-1 thus far in non-televised games.
Temple and Duquesne are meeting for the 44th time on the hardwood in a series that dates back to 1934, with the Owls holding a 32-11 advantage in victories. Temple has defeated the Dukes in eight consecutive meetings. The last Duquesne victory in the series came in a 62-55 contest at McGonigle Hall on January 30, 1995.
Temple is coming off a 68-65 victory over George Washington last Sunday at the Liacouras Center in its Atlantic 10 Conference opener. The Owls grabbed a season-high 41 rebounds in their seventh straight win over the Colonials. Hawkins scored 22 points and Brian Polk chipped in 13 points and had seven boards. Neither team shot well. George Washington converted 42.6 percent (20-47) of its attempts from the field, while Temple shot just 35.4 percent (23-65).
Duquesne is coming off a 76-56 loss at Saint Joseph's on Sunday. The Dukes committed 24 turnovers and shot 35.8 percent (19-53) from the floor. Kevin Forney scored a season-high 22 points and leads Duquesne with a 12.4 points-per-game scoring average.
Temple and Duquesne have not faced a common opponent this season.
When the weather outside has been frightful, inside it has been relatively delightful this season for the Owls. Temple is 2-1 while inclement weather looms outside the arena, including Sunday's win over George Washington when snow fell on North Broad Street. Other games in wintery conditions include a a 91-80 loss at Charlotte and a 65-63 win at Penn State.
