JIAO NAMED A-10 FIELD HOCKEY ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

For the third time this year, Temple freshman field hockey player Monica Jiao earned Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors. Jiao assisted on Temple's game-winning goal against Fairfield on Sunday, October 5 at Geasey Field. Jiao teamed with sophomore Caitlyn Bowers to score the game's only goal in Temple's 1-0 victory.

Throughout the season Jiao has served as a key attacker for the Owls' offense. With two goals and three assists, Jiao ranks second on her team for total points earned. Jiao netted one game-winning goal for the Owls this season in a come-from-behind win against Maine on September 1.

The Temple field hockey posts a 5-6 overall record. The Owls next play Massachusetts on the road on Friday October 10.
