OWLS TO MEET SAINT JOE'S IN THE BATTLE OF THE BIRDS AT THE A-10 FIELD HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Owls, the 2 seed were defeated 2-1 at Geasey Field by the 3 seed Saint Joseph's on Saturday to set up the rematch. The winner of the contest will meet the winner of the match up between the top seed, and 15 Richmond Spiders versus the 4 seed the West Chester Rams at noon.
Temple has a 1-3 mark against the teams in the championships defeating West Chester, 6-5 and dropping 2-1 decisions to Richmond in overtime and to Saint Joseph's in regulation.
The Owls have loss three of their last four games entering the championships.
Six of Temple's 10 losses have been to teams in the Top 15 and 18 of its 20 games have been decided by one goal this season.
Temple is led by senior Haley Dervinis, freshman Monica Jiao and junior goalie Erin Conroy.
Dervinis is the Owls' leading scorer with 18 points, Jiao, who has captured four A-10 Rookie of the Week awards this season , is second on the team with 16 points. Conroy has a respectable 1.74 goals against average, .833 save percentage, led the A-10 with 165 saves and posted a 9-10 overall record with three shutouts this season.
