2.21.03 | Men's Basketball
TU's schedule is rated as the fourth toughest in the nation according to the latest (Feb. 20) Sagarin Ratings.
Temple and Fordham are meeting for the 39th time in a series that dates back to 1932, with the Owls holding a 29-9 advantage, including 16 straight. Under John Chaney, the Owls have never lost to Fordham and own a perfect 15-0 mark.
Sunday's game is being produced by the Atlantic 10 Television Network and can be seen in the Delaware Valley on Comcast SportsNet. It is one 22 regular season Temple men's basketball games scheduled to be televised. The Owls are 2-3 thus far this season in games aired on CSN.
Temple used double-digit scoring outputs from all five of its starters in a 69-64 victory over Rhode Island (15-8, 7-5) at home this past Wednesday. The win was the Owls' seventh straight over the Rams and moved TU to within one-half game of URI for second place in the A-10 East standings. Brian Polk, in his first start of the season, registered 15 points on five-of-eight shooting and deposited four three-pointers to lead TU in scoring. Polk received the starting nod in place of Antywane Robinson, who suffered a sprained right ankle against N.C. State. Polk was joined in double figures by Alex Wesby (14 points), David Hawkins (13), Maurice Collins (14) and Keith Butler (10).
Fordham comes into the game in the midst of an 11-game losing streak. The Rams last won on January 5 when they defeated Massachusetts, 80-67 and are coming off an 83-65 loss at St. Bonaventure this past Wednesday night.
