MEN'S BASKETBALL TO MEET THE NO. 11 MUSKETEERS SATURDAY IN CINCINNATI, OHIO

After meeting the Musketeers, Temple will square of against Richmond in an A-10 Tournament quarterfinal contest on Thursday, March 13 in Dayton Ohio. The Spiders, the No. 3 seed in the west, secured an opening round bye due to the sanctions levied against Saint Bonaventure.
Saturday's game is being televised nationally on ESPN. It is one of eight regular season Temple games available to Owl fans across the country in 2002-03 and one of 22 overall to be televised.
The Owls and Musketeers are meeting for the 12th time in a series that dates back to 1957, with Temple holding a 6-5 advantage in victories.
Temple made 11 steals while La Salle committed 13 turnovers in a game that featured nine lead changes and four ties this past Thursday night. All of the Owls' scoring came from their starters, as the Explorers held an 18-0 advantage in bench points. Four of Temple's starters reached double figures, led by David Hawkins who deposited 19 points. Brian Polk added 17 points and freshmen Maurice Collins and Keith Butler contributed 15 and 11, respectively. Butler also grabbed nine rebounds, to finish one board shy of his third double-double of the season.
Xavier comes into the contest following an exciting 88-80 overtime win at Saint Joseph's on Wednesday night. With the victory, the Musketeers clinched the overall No. 1 seed in the A-10 Tournament. Xavier is riding a 14-game winning streak.
