Temple University junior Brian Polk (Harbeson, Del./Sussex Tech HS) has made himself eligible for the upcoming NBA Draft to be held in New York City on June 26, 2003. Polk sent a letter to the NBA office in New York stating his intentions.

Polk (6-4, 215), who sat out the first seven games of the 2002-03 season, averaged 12.9 points per game while pulling down 4.5 rebounds. Following an injury to teammate Antywane Robinson, Polk was inserted into the starting lineup and started 12 of the last 13 games. During that span, he averaged 18.2 points per game and scored a career-high 30 points at Fordham.

At the 2003 Atlantic 10 Tournament in Dayton, Ohio, Polk averaged 22.3 points per game while shooting 56.0 percent (24-for-43) from the field. He was named to the 2003 Atlantic 10 Conference All-Tournament Team.

During the 2001-02 season, Polk came off the bench and averaged 8.5 points per game. He was the 2002 Atlantic 10 Conference Sixth Man of the Year and was also named to the league's all-rookie team.

Polk was born August 24, 1981 and is a 2000 graduate of Sussex Tech High School in Georgetown, Delaware.
