NO. 4 PENN STATE EDGES FIELD HOCKEY, 1-0, IN OVERTIME

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple field hockey team gave #4 Penn State all it could handle before losing a heartbreaker in overtime, 1-0, on Tuesday afternoon at Geasey Field. Penn State's Timarie Legel scored the winning goal with 13:22 remaining in overtime to keep the Nittany Lions undefeated at 4-0.

Owls' goalkeeper Erin Conroy was spectacular in goal with 22 saves in over 71 minutes of action.

Lions' keeper Annie Zinkavich stopped all 18 shots she faced in posting the shutout. Penn State had a 33-18 advantage in shots and held a slight 8-5 advantage in penalty corners.

The Owls' two losses have come to #2 North Carolina and #4 Penn State.

Temple, 3-2, goes on the road for the first time this season taking on Hofstra on Saturday, September 13 (1:00 p.m.).
