After a scoreless first half the Owls' Rachel Barber opened the scoring with a goal off an assist from Ashley Shepps 37 seconds into the second half. Talia Ruth added a penalty corner goal four minutes later with assists from Haley Dervinis and Rachel Kasper to give the Owls a 2-0 lead early in the second half.
The Cardinals' Afton Hess and Lindsay Quay followed with two goals in the next nine minutes tying the score at 2-2. Duva followed seven minutes later with the winner.
Owls goalkeeper Erin Conroy had 12 saves and Cardinals keeper Tracy Bannister posted no saves in facing three shots in the contest.
Temple won the game despite being outshot, 23-9, and also losing the battle of penalty corners, 11-5. The Owls were very efficient on offense as they scored on all three of their shots on goal.
Temple will play its second straight game on Grant Field as they face #9 Iowa (4-2) tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. The Hawkeyes will be the third Top 10 opponent the Owls will face this season joining 2 North Carolina and 8 Penn State, both losses.
